Yes, it is the easiest family day from Hammamet, and it works from about age 2 or 3. Friguia Park is at Bouficha, around 30 minutes from Hammamet, and three hours inside is enough for the savanna, the big cats and a show. With the drive, the outing lasts about 4h, so you are back for lunch and a nap.

• Animals: lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelope, hippos and flamingos, plus a sea lion show.

Yes, from about age 4, as long as your child is fine on the water. The boats leave from Yasmine marina or the Hammamet port, cruise along the coast towards Nabeul with music and games, stop for a swim, and serve a grilled lunch. Count four to five hours.

• Life jackets: ask to see a child size before you pay. Good boats have them ready, and the crew should hand them out without being asked.
• Seasickness: mornings are usually calmer. If your child gets carsick, give them a light breakfast.
